A Celebration of Cookies

You might have missed it, Dear Readers. It was observed this week—or so the National Day Calendar stated.

Yes, National Peanut Butter Cookie Day rolled around again this past Tuesday. The cookie with the familiar crosshatch design again was placed high on the pedestal of cookiedom by peanut-butter-sweet-treat enthusiasts from border to border and coast to coast.

If you wear a badge of honor stating, “I Can’t Live Without Peanut Butter Cookies,” more than likely you were celebrating with noise makers galore!

However, if the national celebratory day was unknowingly or accidentally or even forgetfully missed, do not fear, Dear Readers! Miss NiNi has your peanut-butter-cookie-loving taste buds in mind all 365 days of the year! In Miss NiNi’s world of handcrafted desserts, it’s peanut butter cookie day every single day!

The Sweetest Treat

Take Dearly Beloved, for instance. His love affair with the familiar cookie treat began years and years ago when his exceptionally talented baking mother frequently filled the family cookie jar with homemade peanut butter cookies.

I cautiously note the word, “filled.” As was most often the case, those peanut butter cookies never had an opportunity to see the inside of the ceramic cookie-holding vessel. The delightful melt-in-your-mouth treats traveled from point A to point B, from wire mesh cooling racks to hand to mouth,…and were gone!

A recipe of great familial notoriety has not been allowed to sit idly by. It continues to be the one and only peanut butter cookie recipe followed at Miss NiNi’s Desserterie. Heads up though! Miss NiNi has appropriately named the yummy treats, Mr. Fred’s Favorite Peanut Butter Cookies.

Miss NiNi duly notes the passing of National Peanut Butter Cookie Day 2018. But, what can be celebrated in the future according to nationaldaycalendar.com ?
