Beater Blade – A Great Little Helper

I can’t tell you how very excited I am about a new product on the market. If you have a KitchenAid stand mixer, you will definitely want to invest in this little helper.

It is called a Beater Blade and made by NewMetro Design, Duncansville, PA. The best part of the Beater Blade is that it scrapes the sides of the bowl as it mixes. And, who hasn’t been frustrated after having mixed up the perfect batter to find that the ingredients in the bottom of the bowl around the dimple have not even thought of co-mingling with the rest of the loveliness in the bowl!

Well, that problem will be eliminated when this mixer accessory is used. I absolutely love it for mixing cream cheese in addition to the rest of the ingredients for a cheesecake. It is my little time saver when mixing cookie dough. It helps my frostings become smoother than silk. Now, mind you, I did not find it satisfactory for mixing all batters. When mixing a batter that required alternating dry ingredients with wet ingredients, I had a problem with the liquid ingredients high-jumping out of the bowl so a spatter guard would have been helpful.  Even on a very slow mixer speed, the liquid ingredients splashed outside the bowl after having dived into a shimmering pool of sweetness.

Hmmmm, not good.

I went back to my KitchenAid beater blade and had less frustration with spatters for that project! After spending a little over $17.00, this easy-to-clean BeaterBlade was shipped   to my door  from Check kitchen stores, too. Their supplies of kitchen accessories always amaze me!
